These gigs are all in the evening in Wadebridge Town Hall, and we will be running a bar there.

Full Festival tickets get you in to everything. There will be full seating for ticket holders for the Causley Celebration Bonus Day (Thursday) Dougie Maclean (Saturday) and Cara Dillon (Sunday) concerts, and a mix of seating and standing for Dosca (Friday) and Black Friday (who are on Monday).

Note that the town hall has a limited capacity of around 220 people, so you are strongly advised to book tickets in advance via our ticket page.

Causley Celebration, Wadebridge Town Hall, Thursday 24th August, 5pm-11pm
Hosting Session at The Ship, Friday 25th August 8-11pm
Fringe Tent, Sunday 27th August 1.30pm

Thorn and Roses are a three-part mixed voice unaccompanied close harmony folk group performing traditional and contemporary material.

Slick delivery, joyful harmonies, great professionalism, plus a good injection of fun, they are Rowena Metters, Sylvia Fletcher, and Jinks Jenkin, who joined voices a number of years ago inspired by their mutual love of unaccompanied close harmony singing.

They are all accomplished singers in their own right, but since forming Thorn and Roses they have developed a style and presentation that has gained them quite a following in this country, with much interest from the Cornish communities of North America.

This year Sylvia and Rowena, who have harmonised together since they were teenagers, celebrate 50 years as performers. Congratulations, you stars!Artist's Website

Wadebridge Town Hall, Friday 25th August 7.30pm

Since triumphantly bursting onto the scene at Celtic Connections 2015, Dosca, the energetic five-piece ensemble of bagpipes, flute, guitar, bass and drums, are quickly making a name for themselves among some of Scotland's finest folk acts.

With influences from Scottish and Irish folk, as well as a hint of jazz, the band’s self-titled debut EP was launched early in 2015, leading them on to several prominent appearances throughout Scotland and further afield, including the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards, Edinburgh’s Usher Hall, Piping Live! in Glasgow, and a return to Celtic Connections in 2016.

They have also made successful ventures to mainland Europe, none less so than when rapturously received at the Schots Weekend in Belgium. Collectively the band’s members also bring a wealth of touring experience, having travelling in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Brazil.

3 Daft Monkeys’ dynamic style of world-influenced folk music and infectious dancing rhythms will leave you breathless, enthralled and exhilarated.

After experiencing the band’s notoriously energetic live performance at Glastonbury Festival last summer, Mark Radcliffe declared them as one of his “Highlights of the Festival” on BBC TV coverage, and subsequently invited them to play a session on his BBC Radio 2 Folk Show. The band have also performed a live session with Whispering Bob Harris on Radio 2, after he caught them at Cropredy Festival.

With their quirky and original approach to music, and their passion, intensity and sheer joy of life, 3 Daft Monkeys have gained themselves a large and loyal cult following, which is still growing rapidly due to their intense touring schedule. Their music is hard to pigeon-hole, mixing and crossing many musical genres from Celtic, Klezmer, Gypsy and Balkan to Latin, Ska, Dub Reggae, Indie and Rock.
With a brand new line-up, the band weave enchanting melodies with catchy choruses, virtuoso vibrant fiddle, rhythmic 12-string guitar, 6-string bass, bespoke hand-percussion and four-part vocal harmonies. Their music leads you through a musical journey of the senses and emotions, and the desire to dance is irresistible.

Dalla is the first supergroup in Cornish Celtic music. Comprising four of the foremost proponents of traditional Cornish music today, they mix an unparalleled grounding in the traditions of Cornwall with fearless innovation, compelling dance rhythms, and some of the best tunes and songs.

It’s a joyful, heartrending, life affirming show that invites you to share in the mischievous delight they take in playing with their tradition, and in their fascination with the world that lies behind the pieces.

Songs rooted in the Cornish worlds of mining, fishing and farming, of heartbreak, loving, laughing and dying, for dancing, singing for joy, singing for sheer pleasure.

This is some of the finest Celtic bouzouki/mandolin playing you're likely to hear, with stomping bass clarinet grooves, gutsy shuffles and hypnotic grooves on the fiddle and viola. Their dazzling live performances convey the sheer joy they take in Cornwall’s indigenous music.

Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin

Wadebridge Town Hall, Sunday 27th August 7.30pm

BBC Radio Two Best Folk Duo 2014, Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin have come a long way since they met in 2009.
While busking from Gastonbury Festival to Sidmouth Folk Week, they invited by Steve Knightley to join Show Of Hands on a tour ending at the Royal Albert Hall.

Singing The Bones was released in 2011 to warm praise, and kicked off more touring. They won South West Music’s “Best Folk Act” and “Best Duo” at the Spiral Awards. Second album Mynd made “Best Of 2013” lists in the Guardian, Telegraph, fRoots, Songlines and on Mark Radcliffe's Radio Two Top Ten.

The last 18 months have been their busiest, with a live album, tour with Seth Lakeman, and 130+ UK dates and gigs across Europe, South Africa, Japan and the US.

Watershed, their keenly anticipated third release, is their most emotionally charged work. The alchemy of Martin's evocative song writing, fiddle and banjo melds with Henry’s skilful dobro, harmonica and lap steel into a distinctive soundscape of lament and hope.

Marvailh

Wadebridge Town Hall, Monday 28th August 7.30pm

“Marvailh”, in Breton, means “fantasy tale”. Five talented musicians from Rennes have come together to write their own story. Through their passion of Breton music, these five young men from different musical backgrounds (saxophone, accordion, guitar, double bass and drums) have let themselves be carried by the influences of jazz and pop in their everyday life. Deeply rooted in traditional music, always attentive to dancers, Marvailh uses all its energy to produce a velvety, enthralling and powerful sound which is reminiscent of a jazz quintet.
