Bolingey Troyl are group of musicians and dancers enthusiastic about the Celtic revival and Cornish music and dance from Bolingey, a hamlet just inland from Perranporth, which has a rich history of community entertainment including its September Fayre. They play weddings, anniversaries and festivals, and go out as a dance band with caller and demonstration dancers.
Together for over 20 years, they draw on a talented body of eight musicians, twelve dancers and two ceilidh callers for all kinds of celebrations.
With their infectious humour their reputation and popularity has grown steadily, raising thousands of pounds for Cornish charities. They’ve played main stages at Lorient’s Festival Interceltique, Boardmasters, the Royal Cornwall Show and the Falmouth International Shanty Festival. Other venues have included the deck of the Cutty Sark, nursing homes, funerals and Memory Cafes, and they encourage children to sing with choral workshops.
